Blades School of Hair Design offers classes beginning year-round, so you can begin your cosmetology program when it’s right for your schedule. You can apply for enrollment any time, and classes begin the first Monday of every month.
The first step is scheduling a campus tour and meeting with an admissions counselor to ensure that you meet admissions requirements. During this meeting, you’ll go over tuition and financial aid options, coursework, physical requirements of the profession, and other important details to help you decide if cosmetology is the right career path for you.
Note that you can take a campus tour without committing to your program, if you want to get a feel for what our school has to offer and get answers to your questions about attending cosmetology school.
Once you’ve decided that enrollment is the right choice for you, you’ll submit your application paperwork and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to explore your financial aid options that can help you pay for school. When you’re ready to submit your application paperwork and accompanying documentation, you’ll pay your registration fee and get officially enrolled.
If you are a returning student and have attended Blades School of Hair Design within the past two years, you will be given credit for any hours you’ve already completed. If you are transferring from a different cosmetology school or returning after a period of more than 2 years, you will be given a competency evaluation to determine how many transferring credits you will have upon enrollment. Transferring credit hours are assessed on a case-by-case basis, so reach out to an admissions counselor for more details.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. The best way to see what you may qualify for is through the FAFSA®. When filling out this free application, it is crucial to fill it out as accurately and thoroughly as possible.
Be prepared for tax and income information for yourself if you’re applying as an independent or your parents or guardians if you’re applying as a dependent. Once you’ve submitted the appropriate form using our school code (030272), then our financial aid team will get in touch to talk further about how to access the federal grants and student loans that can help you pay for your education.
